About Me

I am SO excited that you’ve decided to stop by my website! I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a 35 year old Gifted Education teacher for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. I have been married to my husband, Bob, for 11 years. We have two daughters, ages 9 and 3 ½ years. We also have an 11 year old pitbull named Wrigley. On top of all of that, I am also a health and wellness Beachbody coach.

When we got married in 2004, shortly afterwards I decided I needed to lose weight and I started Weight Watchers. I was 140 lbs and looking back, I really did not need to lose weight! (Actually, I would LOVE to weight that now! Lol)

Well fast forward 2 years and we had our first daughter. I gained about 50 lbs with that pregnancy and just never quite lost that baby weight. I once again tried Weight Watchers, but it never really taught me WHAT to eat and I was obsessed with counting points. I even tried NutriSystem because I wanted something quick and easy, but it just wasn’t the right program for me

A few years later, we were blessed with another pregnancy—a baby boy. However, there were complications when I was 18 weeks along and our son was born prematurely. He is now an angel watching over us. It turned out that I had a slow leak from my appendix and I had a grapefruit-sized abscess that had walled itself off on my uterus. Our son took the brunt of the infection but I was also very sick afterwards. I left the hospital a week later with a drainage tube in my right side and a PICC line in my left arm to administer intravenous antibiotics for my infection.
I will say that this turn of events, as you can imagine, completely changed my outlook on life but it took a long time. I learned from my doctors that if I had not been pregnant, I would have been very sick and possibly would have died. I truly believe that my son was sent as an angel to save me and I am forever blessed because of it. As I said, though, this took me a LONG time to come to realize.

We were so excited to become pregnant again the following year with our second daughter. During this pregnancy, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and was able to control it with my diet. I actually enjoyed eating healthy and figuring out what to eat and how much to eat.

As I have continued to go through my daily life as a wife, mom, and teacher, I have tried to put meaning to WHY I am still here on this earth. I have come to realize that I only have this one life and I need to cherish it.

On New Year’s Eve 2014, I took a leap of faith and reached out to a friend about what she had been doing to lose weight. She introduced me to Shakeology and 21 Day Fix and I was HOOKED! It taught me how to go to the grocery store and buy my OWN food, how to prepare healthy meals for my family, and how to portion control what I ate. I learned how to incorporate 30 minutes of exercise into my daily routine. Shakeology helped me feel full and energized. After a month, I decided to become a Beachbody coach “just for the discount” (Coaches get 25% off their Shakeology. Woo hoo!)

Well, during that time, I was having a physical transformation and my coach was posting about it on Facebook. People started asking me more about it. Having a teacher’s heart, I LOVED being able to share what I know with others.

I completed several rounds of 21 Day Fix and moved on to 21 Day Fix Extreme.

I also completed Insanity Max:30 and Focus T25.

I have also done workouts from Les Mills Combat, PiYo, and P90X3. I have yet to find a Beachbody workout that I DON’T like. 😉 All the while I have used my portion containers to guide my nutrition. My children have also started to see me as a healthy role model.

And that all brings me to where I am today. I have lost 30 lbs. and countless inches.
