With everything opening up again and the world resuming to how it was a few years back, we need to practice some safety measures to protect ourselves and our loved ones from COVID-19. This disease has been with us for a few years now and would still continue to exist at a time nobody knows when.
Although we are now more knowledgeable about this disease, we already have procedures on how to deal with it properly and safely, it is still important to take care of ourselves and avoid getting infected as much as possible. COVID-19 vaccines are already available these days so it is a wise decision to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The vaccine won’t keep COVID-19 away but it helps lessen the severity of the symptoms in case you get infected. Don’t forget to get a booster shot for better protection.
Wear a Mask
If you’re going to public spaces, it is important to wear a mask to filter the air you breathe in and lower the risk of infection. Be sure to wear a mask that fits well around your face. There are different kinds of masks to choose from but P2 masks provide the highest level of protection among all the other types.
Practice Social Distancing
Even if you’re already wearing a mask, it is still important to practice social distancing, especially in public spaces. If it is not necessary, just avoid crowded spaces to lessen the chance of spreading the virus and catching it as well. If you have a loved one at home who is sick. It is best to isolate that person in a separate room and avoid close contact if possible. Be sure to wear protective gear and follow health safety guidelines if you’re taking care of a sick person.
Practice Hand Washing
Frequent hand washing helps a lot in preventing the spread of the virus. The hands are the dirtiest part of our body since we use them to touch almost anything. Be sure to practice washing your hands regularly and don’t forget to disinfect them with alcohol or hand sanitizer to kill all germs on contact.
Improve Ventilation
Poor ventilation is a perfect place for the COVID-19 virus. It could thrive in indoor spaces and spread easily, especially when there is poor ventilation in the area. Keep your home’s air safe and COVID-free by improving ventilation and letting fresh air from the outdoors in. With better air circulation, airborne germs can’t thrive which lowers the chances of getting sick.
Disinfect Surfaces
Lastly, it is also important that you disinfect surfaces that are used by different people such as the doorknob, telephone, handles, faucets, and many more. Germs can just be lurking around and they are passed around on different surfaces easily through the hands.
Those safety steps are not that complicated to follow at all. Practice it wherever you are and you can surely lower your and your family’s risk of getting infected.
