4 reasons why swimming is healthy!

Almost all of us learned to swim as children. Not strange, in a water-rich country like this; after all, it is vital to be able to get back to dry land alive. At a later age, however, many adults stop swimming almost completely with Lifeguard Training. And that’s a shame because there are few sports that are so incredibly healthy for you.

1. Swimming and fitness

Swimming, like running and cycling, is a cardio sport. That means that you mainly train your condition with it. When you swim regularly, you will soon notice that you can last longer and longer – and you don’t even have to train intensively for that. Your lung capacity increases, so you are less likely to get out of breath. The health of your heart and blood vessels also improves.

2. Swimming and Muscles

This makes swimming healthy and an excellent way to lose weight. It can also be a good way for people who are very overweight to take the first steps. You will not quickly suffer from your joints in the water, as is much more the case with running, for example.

4. Swimming with injuries

And that brings us to the last big advantage of why swimming is healthy: it can also be done if you suffer from injuries. The chance that you will be injured while doing your laps is also very small. It is not for nothing that this sport is an important means of rehabilitating people after accidents!

An hour of breaststroke every few weeks does not really help. For example, a sensible idea is to choose a fixed time when you go swimming once or twice a week.
